Frozen box mod IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Frozen in Maputo: 9 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with frozen in Mozambique
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
We run frozen the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long frozen tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a frozen box mod really costs in Maputo
We run frozen the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested frozen in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised MT41 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.66 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should frozen start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
How long does frozen in a box mod last?
In Maputo we measured 8 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does frozen taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the frozen blend itself harsh.
