Tropical starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Tropical in Maputo: 16 units tested over 9 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Delivery, returns and what 7–14 business days really means
The honest read on tropical: 16 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 16 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a tropical starter kit really costs in Maputo
We run tropical the same way in Maputo: same starter kit, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested tropical in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT54 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.75 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT54 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.75 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does tropical in a starter kit last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should tropical start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
