Tropical box mod IQOS in Maputo: the wholesale shortlist
Tropical in Maputo: 10 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tropical habit
Tropical box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 10 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run tropical the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long tropical tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tropical box mod really costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested tropical in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tropical bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tropical the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.15 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
