Tobacco pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Tobacco in Maputo: 16 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a pod kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Tobacco in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco pod kit really costs in Maputo
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.37 per 10 ml.
How we tested tobacco in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tobacco in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Is tobacco legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should tobacco start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
