Tobacco cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Tobacco in Maputo: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.06 per 10 ml.
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco cartomizer really costs in Maputo
A tobacco cartomizer from the compared options in Mozambique costs about MT2.06 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested tobacco in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tobacco in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for tobacco in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.06 per 10 ml liquid plus MT43 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should tobacco start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
