Sweet pen device IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist
Sweet in Maputo: 13 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Sweet pen device here
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Sweet prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.97 per 10 ml.
The short version: sweet in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sweet pen device really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at sweet in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sweet in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sweet bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Batch code and production date, so a sweet bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where sweet goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sweet in Maputo survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for sweet in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Why does sweet taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the sweet blend itself harsh.
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does sweet in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
