Spiced pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Spiced in Maputo: 23 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What spiced costs in Maputo
Spiced prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.9 per 10 ml.
A spiced pod kit from the discounted options in Mozambique costs about MT2.9 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: spiced in Maputo works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a spiced pod kit really costs in Maputo
A spiced pod kit from the discounted options in Mozambique costs about MT2.9 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested spiced in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a spiced bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long spiced in Maputo survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why spiced tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.9 per 10 ml liquid plus MT67 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should spiced start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
