Sour refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Sour in Maputo: 10 units tested over 5 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
If you are looking at sour in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
We run sour the same way in Maputo: same refill pack, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: sour in Maputo works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour refill pack really costs in Maputo
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested sour in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Maputo survives.
- Treating the advertised MT60 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.86 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
Is sour legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
