Salted pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Salted in Maputo: 16 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Salted is allowed to say
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.39 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 16 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a salted pod kit really costs in Maputo
A salted pod kit from the cheapest options in Mozambique costs about MT3.39 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested salted in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where salted goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
How long does salted in a pod kit last?
In Maputo we measured 4 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
