Salted box mod IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Salted in Maputo: 21 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
The honest read on salted: 21 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Salted sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted box mod really costs in Maputo
Salted in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested salted in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where salted goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long salted in Maputo survives.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for salted in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
How long does salted in a box mod last?
In Maputo we measured 8 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
