Plum pen device IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Plum in Maputo: 24 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Plum is allowed to say
We run plum the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plum pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long plum tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plum pen device really costs in Maputo
Plum prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.15 per 10 ml.
How we tested plum in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where plum goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plum in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

| Entry kit | MT59 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.15 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does plum in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 4 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is plum legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
