Licorice starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Licorice in Maputo: 15 units tested over 3 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a starter kit for licorice
Licorice sounds like one product. It is not: a starter kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Licorice in Maputo reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice starter kit really costs in Maputo
The honest read on licorice: 15 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested licorice in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT48 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.9 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing licorice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for licorice in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Licorice | Decides coil choice more than strength does |

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~7 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT48 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT1.9 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does licorice in a starter kit last?
In Maputo we measured 3 to 15 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT1.9 per 10 ml liquid plus MT48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
