Plum box mod IQOS in Maputo: the best shortlist
Plum in Maputo: 24 units tested over 2 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with plum in Mozambique
Plum box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run plum the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: plum in Maputo works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum box mod really costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested plum in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where plum goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT41 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.79 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT41 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.79 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does plum in a box mod last?
In Maputo we measured 2 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should plum start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.79 per 10 ml liquid plus MT41 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
