Plain refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 11 units tested over 5 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with plain in Mozambique
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The honest read on plain: 11 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: plain in Maputo works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain refill pack really costs in Maputo
Plain in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested plain in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plain goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT47 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.35 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

| Entry kit | MT47 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT3.35 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.35 per 10 ml liquid plus MT47 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
