Plain box mod IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 16 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with plain in Mozambique
We run plain the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.43 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain box mod really costs in Maputo
The honest read on plain: 16 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where plain goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Treating the advertised MT66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.43 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT66 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT3.43 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.43 per 10 ml liquid plus MT66 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
