Pear prefilled pod IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Pear in Maputo: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a prefilled pod for pear
If you are looking at pear in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Pear in a prefilled pod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: pear in Maputo works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear prefilled pod really costs in Maputo
Pear sounds like one product. It is not: a prefilled pod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested pear in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT37 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.2 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why pear tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for pear in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT37 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.2 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.2 per 10 ml liquid plus MT37 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
