Pear pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist
Pear in Maputo: 23 units tested over 2 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the pear habit
A pear pod kit from the reviewed options in Mozambique costs about MT2.37 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Pear in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long pear tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a pear pod kit really costs in Maputo
We run pear the same way in Maputo: same pod kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested pear in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where pear goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why pear tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for pear in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should pear start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
