Dessert pen device IQOS in Maputo: the wholesale shortlist
Dessert in Maputo: 15 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good pen device from a repack
Dessert sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The honest read on dessert: 15 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long dessert tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a dessert pen device really costs in Maputo
Dessert prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.29 per 10 ml.
How we tested dessert in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a dessert bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why dessert tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long dessert in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
