Pear mesh tank IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Pear in Maputo: 12 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Pear is allowed to say
If you are looking at pear in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: pear in Maputo works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear mesh tank really costs in Maputo
Pear prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.19 per 10 ml.
How we tested pear in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why pear tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
