Mint pen device IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Mint in Maputo: 6 units tested over 3 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a pen device for mint
Mint in Maputo reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Mint in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long mint tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a mint pen device really costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested mint in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where mint goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
Why does mint taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the mint blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On mint the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.25 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
How long does mint in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 3 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
