Licorice box mod IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Licorice in Maputo: 10 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a box mod for licorice
Licorice sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
A licorice box mod from the value options in Mozambique costs about MT2.56 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: licorice in Maputo works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a licorice box mod really costs in Maputo
Licorice in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested licorice in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Mixing licorice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~6 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT67 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.56 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.56 per 10 ml liquid plus MT67 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
