Ordering IQOS to Maputo: the practical version
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
We run melon the same way in Maputo: same squonk mod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: melon in Maputo works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Melon sounds like one product. It is not: a squonk mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested melon in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where melon goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long melon in Maputo survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.66 per 10 ml liquid plus MT66 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does melon in a squonk mod last?
In Maputo we measured 2 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
