Melon pen device IQOS in Maputo: the order shortlist
Melon in Maputo: 12 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a pen device for melon
Melon sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long melon tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a melon pen device really costs in Maputo

How we tested melon in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where melon goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT29 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.58 per 10 ml.
- Mixing melon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.58 per 10 ml liquid plus MT29 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.

Not automatically. On melon the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.58 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
