Melon pen device IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Melon in Maputo: 6 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with melon in Mozambique
The honest read on melon: 6 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run melon the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a melon pen device really costs in Maputo
Melon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.31 per 10 ml.
How we tested melon in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where melon goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT52 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.31 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why melon tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On melon the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.31 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
How long does melon in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 5 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
