Honey box mod IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Honey in Maputo: 7 units tested over 3 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Honey box mod here
Honey in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run honey the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: honey in Maputo works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a honey box mod really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested honey in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where honey goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.71 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How long does honey in a box mod last?
In Maputo we measured 3 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does honey taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the honey blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.71 per 10 ml liquid plus MT56 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
