Herbal refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Herbal in Maputo: 18 units tested over 7 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good refill pack from a repack
Herbal prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.18 per 10 ml.
We run herbal the same way in Maputo: same refill pack, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: herbal in Maputo works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a herbal refill pack really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at herbal in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested herbal in a refill pack
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every herbal bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Mixing herbal with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
