Herbal refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Herbal in Maputo: 14 units tested over 3 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good refill pack from a repack
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
A herbal refill pack from the budget options in Mozambique costs about MT1.79 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long herbal tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a herbal refill pack really costs in Maputo
Herbal in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested herbal in a refill pack
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why herbal tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long herbal in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should herbal start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
Why does herbal taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the herbal blend itself harsh.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT1.79 per 10 ml liquid plus MT53 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
