Herbal cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Herbal in Maputo: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Herbal is allowed to say
The honest read on herbal: 11 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run herbal the same way in Maputo: same cartomizer, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 11 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a herbal cartomizer really costs in Maputo
Herbal prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.13 per 10 ml.
How we tested herbal in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Mixing herbal with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why herbal tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
