Cola box mod IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Cola in Maputo: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Cola box mod here
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
We run cola the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: cola in Maputo works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a cola box mod really costs in Maputo
Cola prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.42 per 10 ml.
How we tested cola in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every cola bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where cola goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why cola tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised MT58 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.42 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
