Citrus pen device IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 7 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Citrus is allowed to say
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.4 per 10 ml.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Below is the run we did for this search: 7 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus pen device really costs in Maputo
Citrus in Maputo reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested citrus in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised MT54 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.4 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Is citrus legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
How long does citrus in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
