Citrus pen device IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 10 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Citrus is allowed to say
Citrus in Maputo reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The honest read on citrus: 10 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long citrus tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested citrus in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT52 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.8 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT1.8 per 10 ml liquid plus MT52 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does citrus in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
