Candy prefilled pod IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Candy in Maputo: 11 units tested over 5 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Ordering IQOS to Maputo: the practical version
Candy prefilled pod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The honest read on candy: 11 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: candy in Maputo works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a candy prefilled pod really costs in Maputo
Candy prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.09 per 10 ml.
How we tested candy in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where candy goes wrong
- Mixing candy with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised MT52 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.09 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
