Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
The honest read on blackcurrant: 23 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 23 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a blackcurrant squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Blackcurrant in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested blackcurrant in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.49 per 10 ml.
- Mixing blackcurrant with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why blackcurrant tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
Is blackcurrant legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
How long does blackcurrant in a squonk mod last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 23 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
