Vanilla squonk mod IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Vanilla in Maputo: 16 units tested over 5 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Vanilla squonk mod here
Vanilla in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run vanilla the same way in Maputo: same squonk mod, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long vanilla tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a vanilla squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Vanilla prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.19 per 10 ml.
How we tested vanilla in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why vanilla tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
