Vanilla refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the order shortlist
Vanilla in Maputo: 18 units tested over 6 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Vanilla refill pack here
Vanilla refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 18 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run vanilla the same way in Maputo: same refill pack, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: vanilla in Maputo works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a vanilla refill pack really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at vanilla in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested vanilla in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every vanilla bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How long does vanilla in a refill pack last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 18 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should vanilla start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
Why does vanilla taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the vanilla blend itself harsh.
