Vanilla pen device IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Vanilla in Maputo: 7 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a pen device for vanilla
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The honest read on vanilla: 7 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long vanilla tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a vanilla pen device really costs in Maputo
Vanilla prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.78 per 10 ml.
How we tested vanilla in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why vanilla tastes flat after two days.
