Vanilla cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Vanilla in Maputo: 21 units tested over 7 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a cartomizer for vanilla
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Below is the run we did for this search: 21 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a vanilla cartomizer really costs in Maputo
We run vanilla the same way in Maputo: same cartomizer, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested vanilla in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long vanilla in Maputo survives.
- Treating the advertised MT42 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.48 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Packaging for vanilla in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Vanilla | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | cartomizer | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 21 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~6 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT42 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.48 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.48 per 10 ml liquid plus MT42 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should vanilla start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
Why does vanilla taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the vanilla blend itself harsh.
