Vanilla box mod IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Vanilla in Maputo: 23 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Vanilla is allowed to say
Vanilla prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.51 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at vanilla in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Below is the run we did for this search: 23 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a vanilla box mod really costs in Maputo
The honest read on vanilla: 23 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested vanilla in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a vanilla bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
