Tropical refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Tropical in Maputo: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What tropical costs in Maputo
Tropical refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 15 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Tropical prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT1.76 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long tropical tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tropical refill pack really costs in Maputo
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested tropical in a refill pack
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for tropical in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT1.76 per 10 ml liquid plus MT38 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tropical the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT1.76 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
