Tropical 30 ml shortfill IQOS in Maputo: the best shortlist
Tropical in Maputo: 18 units tested over 6 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Tropical 30 ml shortfill here
The honest read on tropical: 18 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long tropical tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tropical 30 ml shortfill really costs in Maputo

How we tested tropical in a 30 ml shortfill
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a tropical bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT47 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.26 per 10 ml.
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Buying the cheapest 30 ml shortfill available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
How long does tropical in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 18 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a 30 ml shortfill cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.26 per 10 ml liquid plus MT47 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
