Tropical 10 ml bottle IQOS in Maputo: the best shortlist
Tropical in Maputo: 21 units tested over 4 weeks, 10 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with tropical in Mozambique
Tropical in a 10 ml bottle is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Tropical prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.18 per 10 ml.
The short version: tropical in Maputo works if the 10 ml bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tropical 10 ml bottle really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at tropical in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the 10 ml bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested tropical in a 10 ml bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 10 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a tropical bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 10 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the 10 ml bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a 10 ml bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How much does a 10 ml bottle cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.18 per 10 ml liquid plus MT54 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 10 ml bottle units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
