Tobacco zero-nicotine bottle IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist — Iqosmozambique
Tobacco in Maputo: 9 units tested over 2 weeks, zero-nicotine bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good zero-nicotine bottle from a repack
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.33 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at tobacco in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the zero-nicotine bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the zero-nicotine bottle you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco zero-nicotine bottle really costs in Maputo
Tobacco in Maputo reaches the shelf in zero-nicotine bottle formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested tobacco in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the zero-nicotine bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the zero-nicotine bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a zero-nicotine bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a zero-nicotine bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest zero-nicotine bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for tobacco in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does tobacco in a zero-nicotine bottle last?
In Maputo we measured 2 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.33 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should tobacco start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a zero-nicotine bottle.
