Tobacco pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Tobacco in Maputo: 18 units tested over 6 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with tobacco in Mozambique
Tobacco pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 18 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco pod kit really costs in Maputo
We run tobacco the same way in Maputo: same pod kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested tobacco in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.71 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
