Tobacco box mod IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Tobacco in Maputo: 22 units tested over 3 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a box mod for tobacco
Tobacco in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.54 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco box mod really costs in Maputo
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested tobacco in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT51 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.54 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How long does tobacco in a box mod last?
In Maputo we measured 3 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.54 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
