Sour mesh tank IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist
Sour in Maputo: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Sour mesh tank here
If you are looking at sour in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: sour in Maputo works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour mesh tank really costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested sour in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Sour | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | mesh tank | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 17 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~6 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT36 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.41 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does sour in a mesh tank last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 17 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.41 per 10 ml liquid plus MT36 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
