Sour cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Sour in Maputo: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What sour costs in Maputo
We run sour the same way in Maputo: same cartomizer, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.56 per 10 ml.
The short version: sour in Maputo works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour cartomizer really costs in Maputo
Sour cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested sour in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where sour goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
