Sour box mod IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Sour in Maputo: 21 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good box mod from a repack
Sour box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you are looking at sour in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: sour in Maputo works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour box mod really costs in Maputo
Sour in Maputo reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested sour in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

| Entry kit | MT32 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.23 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does sour in a box mod last?
In Maputo we measured 8 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.23 per 10 ml liquid plus MT32 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
