Sour box mod IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Sour in Maputo: 19 units tested over 5 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
Sour in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour box mod really costs in Maputo
Sour box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested sour in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for sour in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sour the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.9 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
