Salted squonk mod IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist
Salted in Maputo: 8 units tested over 3 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Salted is allowed to say
Salted in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT1.86 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a salted squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Salted in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested salted in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where salted goes wrong
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised MT33 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.86 per 10 ml.

Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
