Salted prefilled pod IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Salted in Maputo: 23 units tested over 3 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A salted prefilled pod from the online options in Mozambique costs about MT3.46 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: salted in Maputo works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted prefilled pod really costs in Maputo
We run salted the same way in Maputo: same prefilled pod, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested salted in a prefilled pod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Spare parts availability for prefilled pod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where salted goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a prefilled pod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.46 per 10 ml liquid plus MT29 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a prefilled pod.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
